A Paranormal Mapping Tool for Ghost Hunters and Urban Legend Fans

A new app is stirring excitement in the paranormal community—and it’s not just another ghost story.

Haunted, a cross-platform map-based application designed to track and explore real-world supernatural phenomena, has officially entered development. Built with .NET MAUI and powered by Mapsui, the app promises to deliver an immersive experience for anyone fascinated by haunted locations, cryptid sightings, and unexplained events.

Unlike traditional ghost-hunting apps that rely on gimmicks or random sound effects, Haunted is taking a data-driven, community-powered approach. Users will be able to browse a map of haunted places in the USA, read eyewitness accounts, history, lore, and even contribute their own stories and sightings. Each pin on the map tells a tale—some chilling, some mysterious, all rooted in real-world lore.

“We wanted to create something that feels like a living archive of the paranormal,” said the development team in a statement. “Whether you’re a skeptic, a believer, or just love spooky history, Haunted will let you explore the unknown in a way that’s immersive, respectful, and beautifully designed.”

The app’s interface draws inspiration from the sleek aesthetic of modern gaming apps, but trades game tiles for glowing map pins and spectral overlays. A sidebar menu features categories like Hauntings, Spooky Locals, and Tools of the Trade, each represented by custom icons— such as a ghost, crystal ball, and skeleton hand.

To fund the project, the team has launched a Kickstarter campaign offering early access, exclusive digital kits, and even the chance to have your own ghost story featured in the app’s lore. Stretch goals include augmented reality ghost overlays for mobile versions, real-time sighting feeds, and Tools of the Trade such as EVP Recorders, VoiceBoxes and more.

The campaign has already begun attracting attention from paranormal influencers and ghost-hunting groups, many of whom see Haunted as a long-overdue upgrade to the genre.

“This could be the ultimate tool for field investigators,” said one Reddit user in the r/Paranormal subreddit. “It’s like Google Maps for ghosts.”
